Zooming through the beat beyond

Liz driving
Troy in the back
i'm on the roof rack
hollering like Jack
here we go
into the mystic
Venice Beach
i thought this only existed
to those who resisted
worn out beat books
the sun smarts
my head and heart
flying
mosquito on amphetamines
buying into
car girls flags and mountains
freeway freeloading
i may go blind
this Californian bazaar
bizarre in reams
cats on skateboards pushing dope
latino lovers selling reckless hope
new age neurotics telling old jokes
to anyone who will listen
its all here in colour
a voice from the beehive
'sweatshirts two for twenty five'
'giving em away geezer'
'where are you from'
i ask weezing in hate
'Hackney mate'
the fuzz of reality
stirs me like sugar
the streaming kettle
and Monday morning
call me downstairs
to my black taxicab
and the jagged rhythms
of home
