Dragonfly Love Dance
Long, lazy break in the day.
A hidden away glen of sunlight and shade,
Soft mossy grass and fragrant wildflowers.
Shaded by a large oak, laying upon my woolen poncho
I watched the faery dance of shimmering blue dragonflies in the sky above.
Touching tenderly, winged parries and thrusts
Towards each other in their mating ritual.
I thought of us.
Our short sweet forays into the depths of each others minds, hearts, souls.
I move towards you and you step a bit closer.
You place an ardent hand upon me, and with vast affection I return the tender touch.
We move towards each other at the same time our senses aroused.
We step back to look into each others eyes and wonder at our new fortune.
Both of us reciprocating with a tentative gesture, a hesitant step.
Until the instant when the dancing stops and we are still.
Close.
Together.
Complete.
One.
