Finding Lost

You didn't know; a part of you was lost
Until you just happened upon it
One day in passing....
And put it in it's rightful place.
Believe? Receive? Accept?
Doubt creeps in from past hurts
And old haunts. Walls go up.
Heart.... shuttered.
You can't accept being whole.
You need those rips, and missing pieces.
You know how to live in hurt, and pain
In doubt and mistrust.
Because it's the safe way you know,
Because you find old comfort
In living a half life.
Or you thought it was comfortable, once.
And it's hard to tear down a wall
Unshutter a heart,
Dispose of ways that have kept you safe
But kept you from your truth.
Having life go a little right
For a change,
It's a heady feeling,
Life, with a little froth,
Like a creamy black & tan poured correctly.
Bitter, sweet, filling, and warming to the soul
And damn those Fates!
Tossing together kindred spirits
From out of the nowhere into the here!
How dare they?
They hand those word back to you.
Without the question marks.
Believe! Receive! Accept!
And add...Love!
They know.
They throw up their hands
And roll their eyes
And laugh at our stubborness.
And once more, it happens.
Anam Caras - soul friends,
Born and reborn in a circle,
Coming together, again and again.
Until we get it right.
Time after time, Life after life.
One soul complements the other.
Lifetimes meld together.
One love, one lover, in wholeness
Reborn to life, to love renewed, returns.
