Bob the Bluetit

Bob, a young Bluetit
Thought he was a misfit,
Because flying he just could not master.
His friends would all bomb
Through the air with aplomb,
But when Bob tried it was a disaster!
He'd tried normal things
Like flapping his wings,
It made him too tired he found.
Though he jumped up quite high
In his efforts to fly,
He'd soon end up back on the ground!
He climbed up a tree
As he wanted to see,
If a high launch would make it more easy.
But on nearing the top
He soon had to stop,
As the height of it made him feel queasy!
A passing wise owl
Looking on with a scowl'
Said "What you require is a seesaw.
"If you stand on one end
"A rock dropped by your friends,
"Would soon get you airborne I'm sure!
Bob stood on one side
And prepared for the ride,
While his pals hauled a rock in the air.
As it fell with a thud
Bobs take off was good,
Though it gave him a terrible scare!
Bob was now aloft
And although they had scoffed,
His friends gathered round and agreed.
Unconventional start
But he'd soon found the art,
And was quite a fine flyer indeed!
Bob was now cock-a-hoop
As he did loop the loop,
And some barrel rolls just for good measure.
As he whizzed through a cloud
He shouted out loud,
"Thank you owl", and owl yelled "It's my pleasure!"
Bob, a young Bluetit
Is no longer a misfit,
At flying, they say, he's the master.
With his friends he can bomb
Through the air with aplomb,
And in fact none of them can go faster!
