I wish I was free like the sea

Oh Sea,
You are always free
You never worry about money,
Paying the rent and bills or where your next pay cheque will come from
You have your job,
The eternal thrashing and crashing of your waves
You don’t have to answer to anyone
I suppose you are a freelancer, but then maybe not?
Maybe the moon with it’s luna cycle is your boss
Maybe that’s who you answer to?

Still you are free from the shackles of society
And free of emotions
You never have self doubt
You never worry about the quality of your work
No one ever questions your ability or motives
You don’t worry about friends and lovers
And the amount of love and affection they show you
You never question your purpose or place
You know what you are and what’s expected of you
You have your place and it’s never challenged
You are allowed to just be
Just to exist
You are just you Sea
You are truly free.
