Of ABC IPs and Comps. – and shallots!

There once was a person in Devon
who entered a veg. competition,
he said it was not
for a winning shallot,
but encouraged more participation!
An ABC comp. can inspire
those writers who may not aspire
to gaining a prize,
(whatever its size)
to share the ideas they acquire.
So we benefit from stimulation
from IPs and each competition
but also pay homage,
the efforts acknowledge –
those labours of organisation!
[IP: village shows, local celebration, whatever it may be, with all its little quirks and fancies and construct a poem or story around it … and some of the above refers to the rest of the IP's explanation on the Inspiration Point page this week!]

Hi Rhiannon,
Hi Rhiannon,
I'm not a great one for comps as I rarely win, I did however gain second prize for a poem once here on ABC so that changed my mind about them. I also got a mention on TV (Dispatches) for that same win. But it isn't the winning I guess, is it, it is the taking part!

Hi Rhiannon
Hi Rhiannon
Really clever poem and I enjoyed the way you worked ABC into it too.

I enjoyed this shallot tale.
I enjoyed this shallot tale. A cherry rossette no less.
May village fairs contine to thrive, a real community feel to them.
Regards.
