Whatever your colour of skin or hair,
throughout our earth’s countries everywhere
all are remotely related to you and to me –
we all are descended from Adam you see
(and Eve too, of course, and from Noah too) –
we’re all humankind, one people, for who
designed and created our wonderful physique
and set us a stewards of earth, and to seek
the help of the One whose image we still bear
despite all the ravages of sin we now wear;
so whenever you quarrel, feel anguish, despair
remember your failings, and pray he will care,
bring peace in some measure where there’s fighting now
and soon cleanse out evil so love will flow
earthwide, its inhabitants co-operate, flourish:
with never a war, but full sustenance lavish.
