Argument or War?

She had a concern
and joined the lobby;
her concern was deep,
not just a hobby;
but she found herself
out of her depth
– so angry were some –
no discussions,
no petitions,
but lashing words
and boiling eyes
– they would never accept
a compromise
or that sometimes they
might have something to learn;
she still had a message,
a deep concern
which she wanted to press for,
but she wouldn’t burn
in hate
towards those who still thought differently.

Hi Rhiannon,
Hi Rhiannon,
Have you got someone in mind when writing this, if so who? I think for many politics is a poison chalice, and now for Theresa May she is really up against it. I can't help feeling no matter what she does in Brussels she will not get to reach an agreement for Brexit with the rest of the government. I felt your verse pattern was a bit unsmooth, and we had a few shocks in reading !
