Around the Round

Spinning on its axis,
around to face the sun
– back to face the darkness
‘til another day’s begun.
Round and round we orbit,
every year the same,
around our star – earth’s tilting
brings seasons back again.
But many planets travel
in orbits that are found
elliptical, stretched circles,
not absolutely round.
We build our cars for motion
efficient over ground;
if wheels are truly circular,
they’ll smoothly whirl around.
Machines spin, passing power
along from here to there –
spinning revolutions
are needed everywhere.

HI Rhiannon
HI Rhiannon
I don't know how you seem to so easily find something to write each week for the suggestion given. And always it seems to contain inspiration and information. Well done.

It really makes you realise
It really makes you realise how lucky we are to live on this planet earth, when you think how difficult other planets have in just existing, leave alone containing human life. Like in your poem we keep revolving, our seasons returning, giving us fresh hope, like your poem Rhiannon.
Really well put.
Jenny.
