Arrival, Departure, Arrival

[Continuing the hymn-for-Sundays series]
First arriving in a manger,
concealing for a time his nature
(all divine), to be a Saviour
– Man to rescue from great danger.
Execution cruel inflicted,
lies of jealous men imputed,
but this death had been predicted
– for the guilty substituted.
When th’atoning death was done,
rose to show our life he’d won,
then departed after teaching
he’d return when all the preaching
of his offered grace was sounded
through the world where sin abounded,
– his arrival now awaited:
perfect world anticipated.

great rhyme
In a nutshell !!
Very good Rhiannon, great rhyme-- regular, easy but whithout compulsion or doggerel, attractive and not forced in any way. I have never managed to get it quite right.
Enjoy your week, don't step on snowdrops! & Nolan
