[Continuing the hymn-for-Sundays series]

“All authority in heaven
and on earth to Me is given”.
While on earth, Jesus, the Lord
food created, sight restored.
As He taught – men were astonished –
with authority admonished,
and the Way of grace conveyed
– repentance, faith must be displayed.

Ostentatious leaders found
their verbal traps He could confound.
Satan could not make him sin.
Satan’s sway was crumbling.
Still on earth, Christ’s Spirit stirs
minds to see through Satan’s slurs
and one day this King will come –
then His rule we all will own.

Of course you speak also of the Temptation of Christ. Do you think that people who don't believe what you do, are damned to Hell? I don't know, sounds a bit harsh. With respect. You don't have to answer.

We are all damed by our guilt, even guilt of not honouring God as God, and only rescued by pardon through what Jesus did in dying on behalf of sinners, taking their due punishment. But that needs to be accepted through repentance and faith as Jesus preached. But he delights in anyone/everyone who turns back to him and accepts. Does that answer your question? Hope your coping with electriciy rationing. Rhiannon

There is in the Bible written of a second death, where the soul is utterly destroyed and forever. A person simply completely ceases to exist.

I think in Revelations. It sounds more reasonable to me.

The electricity situation seems to be getting a lot better lately & Nolan

I think the indication in scripture is that souls aren't destroyed and that the fire and second death is referring to punishment due. The story or Lazarus and the Rich Man is pertinent. Luke 16:19-31, the whole section.

Very sad, but God has made provision, and sent out the message of the offer of pardon in Christ. We don't always know what people are believing in their hearts, or even praying, but not admitting it to their friends and relatives.
