September mornings, sunny faces
walking crisply back to school.
Weeks ago they stripped the traces,
now it seems to feel quite cool
to meet their friends again, and find
the welcomed order stirs the mind
to leave those lazy days behind.
September mornings, Mums released,
weeks of constant duty ended
(activities devised, policed)
– temporarily suspended.
Now their therapy’s begun,
they walk their flock, or drive the run,
refreshed as new committments come.

A very timely poem, Rhiannon. Back to school for most kids this week, and I guess many mums will sigh a sigh of relief.
Much enjoyed.

Hi Rhiannon
Hi Rhiannon
How true it is, that as keen as kids are to finish for the summer, they mostly seem keen to get back. And the mums are very keen for them to go back too. I remember it well.
