A better earth

[Continuing the hymn-for-Sundays series]
A perfect creation
but sin brought withdrawal
of fullest protection
– described as ‘the fall’:
disease, pain and labour,
a struggling life,
and hearts tend to harbour
rebellion and strife.
They hid from their Maker,
with feelings of shame.
He called them, their Master
well knew of their blame,
but promised a Saviour
would come from His throne,
and all this disaster
He’d solve on His own.
And so, incarnation –
to die Christ was sent
for pardon, redemption
for all who repent;
and soon He’ll remove ill,
pollution and sin;
a new perfect earth fill
with those who love Him.
Tune: 11 11 11 11 eg tunes of ‘Immortal, invisible, God only wise’, and ‘‘Away in a manger’

A New Heaven and a New Earth
And I saw new heavens and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away. The Kingdom of God, an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you.
Almost makes you feel like going! Lovely poem Rhiannon the rhythm and rhyme! Would be great to hear it being actually sung. The passages are from Revelations and I Peter.
Have a great week! Nolan &
