[Continuing the hymn-for-Sundays series]

Satan clouds their thinking – so becoming blind:
cannot see things clearly, sluggishness of mind.

Tricked them into thinking God himself is blind
and can’t see their malice, deaf to words unkind.

Smirking when they are not punished straight away,
hope God has no record to reveal one day.

He exists and sees us, everything’s observed,
but his Son he asked to bear what we deserved.

Hi Rhiannon,

This reminded me of that picture of an eye, the eye of God, ever present and ever attentive. It appears in the film Endless Night, do you recall, where Michael is haunted by it when of course he is an abject sinner!

Hi, Hilary. No, I don't know the film. People either want to deny God can see, or make fun of it, or try and make it just judgemental, whereas the truth is that, being God, he can see, but is seeing to help also, if anyone wants his help and forgiveness! Rhiannon
