Warm weather gives pleasure
while rain raises moaning,
complaining and groaning;

but weather extremes
bring cracking of dreams
remind us of destiny
how close is calamity
possessions just temporary,
fragile –
naked we came,
just so we will leave;
how foolish is greed
for more than we need,
jealous resentment
comparing our lot,
contentment
is comfortable
– thankful for what
we have got

for a while.

I hope you are not in danger of flooding Rhiannon? It is always good to be reminded to be thankful, you are so right!

No, we too are thankful for no full flooding here, thank you. We have flooded fields, and sometimes flooded roads, sometimes from run-off from the heavy rain from the fields, and sometimes from the Welsh rainfall coming down the rivers, but not very serious. But always a reminder to be thankful for what we have, and realise our impermanence here. Rhiannon

Hi Rhiannon

weather is always a topic when I meet friends - or write letters. But despite the grey days and wet weather, it could be so much worse, that I am thankful for that.
