Cow — and Bull
By Rhiannonw

A cow is big
with doleful eyes,
munching, chewing all the day
the grass on which she walks or lies.
She has a baby calf
and makes it milk to drink,
and lets us take some for the shops
squeezed from her udder, pink.
The bull is bigger, burly,
looking grim and surly
standing sullen on his own
he seems to want to be alone:
king of his domain
among his harem he will reign.
[IP: cow]

Definitely a poem to read to
Definitely a poem to read to young children, who I'm sure would appreciate.

"...king of his domain
"...king of his domain

A neat contrast shown between cow and bull. Succinct and neatly done, of course. And welcome back, Rhiannon. Paul :)

I love the bull's
I love the bull's alliteration! You made me think, too how I have never seen a bull eating or chewing cud, but they must. Perhaps just much less as they don't have to make milk
