Dandelion heads’ bouquet!

Dandelion mopheads,
each a golden star
Poppy runs to pick them,
‘Poppy! in the car!’
shouts Mum,
a trifle harrassed, tired, glum;
winning smile to me brings gift,
to carry home with care
not to drop them, let them drift
(– they may pass by me, stare).
Reaching home I proffer,
bouquet of fun to those
quite confined, they find it tougher
now to view a thing that grows
down there low beside their toes;
– but how surprised am I to see,
their pleasure in this gift so free –
those shiny mopheads, quite a while
inside a tiny pot-vase smile:
young Poppy’s laughing gift
brought quite an unexpected lift!

Hi Rhiannon
Hi Rhiannon
I am a dandelion lover - and am so pleased to see their bright heads in my garden. So I can understand how pleased your in-laws would have been with the bouquet. Good on Poppy.
