Don’t say ‘cheese’!

Is it made from green cheese,
that friendly moon up there?
or did it from a young earth squeeze,
or join us from elsewhere?

The moon probes told us ‘No’ to cheese,
and rocks’ analyses
and simulations of ‘crash’ and ‘seize’
upset all theories.

The composition of our earth
and moon aren’t quite the same
as if one gave the other birth
and from it somehow came.

And similarly condensation
of both from cloud of gases
should equalise the composition
of earth and lunar masses.

But more alike than had it come
from far off, caught to ride
and circle earth, both yoked as one,
now always at our side.

Designed and formed together, be
companions, so sun’s light
could be reflected. help us see
direction in the night.
