Given a child when past age of hoping –
her child (John) would prepare people
for the coming Messiah.
At six months gestation, her baby
leaped for joy in his mother’s womb*
when Mary, soon to be the
mother of the Messiah came to them.
What a comfort she must have been
to the young mother-to-be –
as both faced their privilege and responsibility
in dependence on the Holy Spirit.
*Luke 1:41, 44

For such (still) a patriachal
For such (still) a patriachal religion, it puzzles me why the strong women in the gospel are not more honoured, but don't ask me - I'm a lapsed Catholic.
