Exquisite Leaf-mulch art

A dropped twig,
beautifully clothed with
light grey lichen –
twirling shapes.
How long did it take to grow and cover?
Now its life is limited,
but in the sunshine shines on the sodden
dank, dark, decaying leaf carpet.
And then we see moss-feathers
lightening up another patch!

Such an evocative opening and some lovely imagery. I could see the leaf carpet. Beautiful vignette, Rhiannon. Paul
