Faith in His Word

[Continuing the hymn-for-Sundays series]

Fear observes the problems sore, and puffs them up to scare.
Faith sees opportunities – God’s work in which to share.

Fear forgets God’s promises, and power that will fulfil.
Faith remembers all God did, and grace that helps us still.

Fear breeds discord, strife – but faith unites in fellowship
of service that sees progress sure, and blessed companionship.

Fear holds back, goes round and round, and misses satisfaction.
Faith works on, divinely led, though slips cause some confusion.

Fear regrets, wants to return, but faith looks, presses onward
in fruitful labour, tasting joy, as God’s plans all move forward.
