Is God there?

Running, running, running
away
 … from God? Why?
do you fear his rod?
or feel him unfair,
unaware
of his mercy and gifts?
or do you think he really isn’t there –
certainly isn’t,
cannot be
anywhere –
insist
that he doesn’t exist?

From whom then do you run?
Do you condemn, complain
about this non-existant One
– a fickle Being, you assume?
and give no room
to thought of what
this Jesus did and said,
and was and is?
