The Green Blush

Roadside curtains, dusty dry,
of tangled trees – when driving by
through March they still seemed spent and sere,
but now we’ve watched green blush appear,
and seen it slowly, silently spread,
a shiny green on what seemed dead,
dull, tired thicket’s brittle stakes:
surrounding wood to life awakes.

It's amazing how the trees
It's amazing how the trees just seem to have burst into life today. Driving into town...a distance of about seven miles, the difference from yesterday was quite breathtaking. You capture this wonderful 'genesis' in your poem so beautifully, Rhiannon.
