the quarrels, mocking, malice, hate,
make everybody willing
to be kind.

“I’d like to change my friend –
she spread a lie in spite.
I’d like to change my brother
who thinks he’s always right!

“I’d really like to change myself,
my fickle moodiness,,
irritations, sharp, quick tongue,
dishonest selfishness.

“I don’t want you to change me,
somehow transform my life.
I dont’t think it would really work,
root out the source of strife.

“It needs a greater power
and one that’s kind and good
to touch the soul and heal the heart
to want, and then begin to change
to be the way we should.”

Good words and good thoughts Rhiannon. I can't for the life of me understand why people in the world don't seem to want to change their approach to hate and war.

Thank you. Our hearts are all deceived in various ways, and affected by sin and pride. But how many get involved in war, or in private quarrels, who can't face admitting wrong and backing out, and wish they hadn't started? And know how unhappy they are even when they seem to be 'winnng'. Rhiannon

I think we get caught in smaller acts we regret. And need help in admitting wrong too! Divine help to get the words out and go a different way! Rhiannon

Indeed, speaking words of wisdom. Actually not such a big fan but it makes me think of the Beatles and John Lennon's song “Imagine”. Ok, although "Let it be" must be one of the best pop songs of all time.

To “start with myself” sounds like a good idea Rhiannon, I used to be conceited but now I am perfect!

I remember when I first came to know the Christian faith, finding an old booklet of songs and one said, 'Oh, Lord, send a revival, O Lord send a revival, O Lord send a revival, and let it begin with me'!
