If you remain silent at this time … (b:example)

Exiled in a foreign land,
now chosen by the king
to be his queen, but even she
dared not to enter in,
into his court unless he call
– rarely, he might extend
his sceptre, welcoming – if not
to death she’d be condemned.
Now Esther’s cousin told her of
the scheme that had been passed
to kill the Jews in every place –
Go to the King, he asked
and don’t forget that you and I
are Jews, we too will die;
– if you stay silent at this time,
God rescue will supply
– they won’t be totally destroyed
but, we ourselves will miss –
are you not queen, in providence
for such a time as this?
She asked that many gather, pray
and fast three days, before
unsummoned, she approach the King,
though contrary to their law;
and if to die, then she would die,
but maybe God would thus
bring his salvation to the Jews,
her mission to success.
They were not wiped out from the earth,
this nation waiting for the birth
of One to be for every land
a Saviour special as God planned.
“For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to royal position for such a time as this? Esther 4:14 in the Bible.

(In this instance we’re given a glimpse of how an overruling providence might work, if one doesnt do as asked …) More about this story in my post ‘Comuppance’. https://www.abctales.com/story/rhiannonw/comeuppance
