Jesus approaching his departure

[Continuing the hymn-for-Sundays series]
The time was coming soon – he knew
just what he’d have to bear and do
in love to save his people – all
who would for his salvation call.
Before returning to his throne,
for all our sins he would atone,
and then present his sacrifice;
God would not need that payment twice.
And in the garden then he knew
the depth of suffering he’d go through:
“If possible …” we hear him pray,
but knew there was no other way.
No other way his Father’s will
and all things needful to fulfil
so we could with our Saviour live
and glory to Christ Jesus give.
“It was just before the Passover Feast. Jesus knew that the time had come for him to leave this world and go to the Father. Having loved his own that were in the world, he now showed them the full extent of his love.” John 13:1
“My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.” Matthew 26:39
“who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:2b
“he will see his offspring and prolong his days, and the will of the Lord will prosper in his hand. After the suffering of his soul, he will see the light of life and be satisfied; by his knowledge my righteous servant will justify many, and he will bear their iniquities.” Isaiah 53:10b,11

everyday language
Lovely work Rhiannon! Scripture in everyday language it helps one to better understand the Bible. The Bible verses are beautiful but perhaps you overdid it just a little bit I know because I myself have been guilty. What I found works best is to give your verses and references rather as comments.
Well do your thing hey! Keep well, happy Easter! & Nolan
