Keep Out! Schooling’s ‘Out’!

School’s out,
terrorists about:
buildings alight
igniting fright,
no education,
child exploitation –
teach them shooting,
bloodshed, looting,
kill good teachers,
gracious preachers,
and the girls they’ll more oppress,
no schooling at all for the fairer sex.

‘Even when there are no guns,
regularly many of us poorer ones
have to take a year off, or more than two,
to help our families struggle through –
so we really have such immense appreciation
when we’re able to return to the desks to get an education:
not only becoming more literate and numerate,
but gaining wisdom’s good foundation
to better help our people and our nation.’
