(Psalm 119:97)
The rebel’s hearts declines
disliked commands and rule
and fears to lose, resign
its choices and control.
Precious words! Words wise, wholly true!
Rules that release me to freedom in You.
Complacent heart reclines,
ignoring sound advice
that calls and undermines
its ease and comfort nice.
Awakened hearts incline
to hear words giving Life
and comforts real, divine
sustaining through all strife.

discipline
Hard words that we don't like hearing … I was severely disciplined but I have never lifted my hand to a child and never will. I have chosen some verses Rhiannon, pardon my foolishness … and please excuse the language it's the only Bible I have. The verses are not exact “referenced”. You can look up the verses if you please I don't want to preach now,
From Proverbs, The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. A fool despiseth his father’s instruction: but he that regardeth reproof is prudent. Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die. Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell.
And Hebrews, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
I don't know what to make of all this but the meaning is very clear. And I don't know of any contradictions of this in the Bible.
I like your refrain. Catchy! Have a good day! & Nolan

I am sure you are right
I am sure you are right about children Rhiannon, and also, I don't know of any place or of verses that encourage or allow any violence against women, at all, in any form. Really corporal punishment was meant specifically for men and older boys.
I am pleased of your answer I felt I might be out of place, keep well! & Nolan
