Larking about in the dark

“Let’s play in the dark”, said big sister.
“Yes”, said little sister.
Curtains drawn, lights out —
what a lark!

Bump! Waa-aa-aagh-aagh!!

Lights on. ‘What’s going on?’
“I only bumped into her.”

A number of hours later, another temporary arm-cast.
Little sister does seem prone to breakages, but

big sister does need to realise
that she’s growing fast
and her weight and size
are so much bigger now
than little sister,
and excitement and exuberance
needs good control
especially when playing in the dark
could cause an awkward fall!!
