Golden leaves and silvering crown
– mulch will nurture growth deep down,
wisdom gleaned through life can feed,
guide new saplings in their need.

Precious days of preparation
for life’s slow deactivation
when in beauty bare but wait
– glimpse reactivated state.

Next time my son complains about me telling him  to do stuff I will say I am being mulchy :0)

I like how you speak of autumn like old age, because that's exactly what it represents to me. Those resting years when we can teach the young what we've learned from being a child through to mother hood and lead them with hope in their hearts.
