Little Cook!

A cock-eyed chef’s hat
and a tired apron all askew,
a small wooden bowl and spoon
and a few little wooden bricks;
“What shall I cook for you ?" …
Stir, stir, stir!
“Pretend to eat it quickly …
say ‘It’s good , and yummy!’ …
then I’ll feed my rabbit and Baby …
I’m their Mummy!”

Based on autobioraphical incidents, but not an exact one occasion! the photo of the equipment is from a while ago when the garments were much newer!

Playing cooking games is the best fun when you're a child, especially if you're allowed to use mud!
A lovely little poem, Rhiannon and that outfit is very cute.

Lends a sense of playfulness to the poem. It sounds like you have had culinary fun with grandchildren who love to pretend cook. Then again, maybe we all do. Enjoyed,, Rhiannon. Paul

I loved those lines so much, brings to mind how much imagination children have. I remember as a tot making mud pies for my dolls up on our then garden grassy bank, with water in the teapot for a cup of tea.
You show how wonderful it is to watch young children and how they can inspire...as in your poem.
Lovely read Rhiannon.
