Longing to Pray

[Continuing the hymn-for-Sundays series]
Oh, do we truly long to be
from chores and tasks and labours free
in order to have time to spend
with God the Father, holy Friend,
enjoying times of blessèd prayer?
– If so, such times will not be rare.
At times God’s presence may seem far,
you may not feel that he can hear;
may feel unworthy, stained with sin;
or, when you pray, your thoughts begin
to wander everywhere away
far from the Lord: you cease to pray.
Our access is through Christ, the Lord;
in him we’re washed and cleansed, restored.
He prays, presents us at the throne,
and gives his Spirit to his own
to help us pray, and bring God’s Word
to mind, by which to prayer we’re stirred.
Tune: 88 88 88 eg Stella

In the garden! Lovely!
In the garden! Lovely! We learned this song in primary school we had to sing it for the principal with school opening each Monday, “I come to the garden alone, while the dew is still on the roses, and the voice I hear .. so sweet the birds hush their singing .. and he walks with me and he talks with me .. ..
Enjoy the day Rhiannon! Tom Brown
