I guess you're thinking of the trouble alcohol so often brings in that way. But it isn't the only trouble-maker.

I wanted to focus on the joy of being able to make a home, home for those who want the welcome.

It is so easy to sew discord and division and suspicion instead of being a peace-maker, and irritation (which we all can feel frequently with those close to us) to be fanned into full breaks instead of trying to keep the welcome, operate forgiveness, and everyone benefit, even the strangers who come in. Rhiannon

Yes I understood it so Rhiannon. Alcohol is not the only cause, my remark did seem rather simplistic.

We had a lost of rain last night, it never rains but it pours.

Thanks, but I didn't think your remark simplistic.

I realised I hadn't given a thought to alcohol's frequent effects I wrote, but have noted in the past at the wonderful consequences that have come with revival of gospel work where wives find their husbands coming home with their pay intact and become helpful husbands and fathers (and the wives similarly affected!) Result, many happier homes! Rhiannon

PS Something of the beauty of a supportive, loving marriage and home seems to shine out from your latest poem, Miranda.

What you say is very true Rhiannon, and as is clearly instructed for wives' conduct in 1 Peter 3, the first few verses especially. Many people these days don't think that way.
