Splash of giant ‘buttercups’ –
King Cups bold,
on the dark and boggy bank,
glossy Marigold.
They claim there are no petals,
but the sepals turn to butter,
blaze out in the sunshine –
loud contagious laughter.

Hi Rhiannon
Hi Rhiannon
What lovely images you create. I too love the yellow flowers of spring, and spent many a time to see if I like butter or not.
I mowed my lawn and felt bad about the dandelions who met their death as a result. So pretty they were, spotting the green with touches of gold. I've left a few in the border to keep me cheery.
