I’m b o r e d ! What!
with all that surrounds you
just waiting
to be
explored?

    Beetles to catch, or webs to watch,
    flowers to draw and puzzles galore,
    looking in books at facts and fiction,
    listening, thoughtful interaction,
    exercises for brain and body,
    writing, helping, kind and busy…

… not just drip-fed with prepackaged leisure,
transported around with no effort whatever …

With many inventive things to do,
what interesting times are in store for you,
an intriguing, intricate world to explore
that cannot, really cannot,
ever
anybody bore!

Hi Rhiannon,

I loved this piece because it reminded me of the fact that I grew up in much simpler times, when we had to use our imaginations. I can't remember a time ever when I've been bored. Sometimes I have to switch my brain off to stop creating, which is very hard to do and why I love meditating and concentrating on my breathing.

Nice one and enjoyed being reminded of how lucky I am.

Hi, Jenny. Thanks, I think it probably takes more effort these days not to get drawn into constant instantly entertaining things, which can lead to feelings of boredom, with mind and body not being stretched. Harder for parents to encourage as well I expect. Manic excitement can tire but not give the satisfaction of noticing things and working things out. Rhiannon
