Not just the specks in their eyes*

[Continuing the hymn-for-Sundays series]
Easy to criticize
and dig up ancient dirt,
enjoy exposing lies,
and actions that have hurt,
with motive to destroy,
to smear and shame, annoy.
Unwilling to accept
that they regret, repent,
and now for long have kept
away from life misspent,
and willing to do good –
give them a chance – you should!
With inward look, do you
your failings, faults admit?
You may advise, if so,
and help without conceit.
Not Judge, but judgement use
to help more than accuse.
Tune: 66 66 66 eg Baca by W H Havergal
*’First take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye’.’ from Matthew 7: 3-5 in the Bible

"With inward look, do you your failings, faults admit?' 'And not Judge, but judgement use
to help more than accuse"..
