One of my father’s carvings

Relaxation from a desk job,
one of his hobbies was carving.
I think the occasion for this one was probably
his parents golden wedding anniversary.
There is a tradition of carving lovespoons in Wales.
He ventured here on something a little more complicated:
One piece of wood, carving out an impression of lattice work,
two interlocked hearts in the centre,
then his parents initials with the date of their wedding: 1911
and five spoons hanging –
I think I teased that the longest spoon was the middle one –
guess who was the middle of the five children!
[IP: an object of significance]
