As you move
on
into this journey, future,
this new year,
abandon self-promotion
pride,
secretive determination
to deceive and hide
your feelings and intention
to lead, be dominant,
omnipotent
in your sphere
of influence.

As you move
into this unknown
acquire thoughtfulness
for others, love.
regret, repentance
for waywardness and selfishness,
and for these take on prayerfulness
for help to hold and use the other two,
for this new journey,
this new year,
as many days as given.
