Peacemakers know joy

[Continuing the hymn-for-Sundtays series}

When you’re making plans for good,
doing all you can and could
to encourage all to be
seeking peace consistently,
    then you will know joy, release:
    gloom and envy, fretting cease.

But those scheming evil, lies,
have to hide, conceal, devise
more deceit, and fretting fills
heart and mind, unrest instills,
    oh, to have an open heart
    sincerity will joy impart.

Deceit is in the heart of those who devise evil, but counsellors of peace have joy. Proverbs 12:20
