Piggy Bank:
from the top
pennies drop
make a puddle
in its middle.

Crunch! Click!
Key turns, flick!
Pennies slide
from inside.

Pennies went,
quickly spent;
not one penny
now in Piggy!

Hide the key,
wait and see
penny pile
in a while.

What a lot
now I’ve got,
pennies count –
right amount
for a pressie
for my Mummy?

Thank you, Tina. Glad you liked it. I was surprised to get the cherry, I think because I was aware it was so much at a very young child's level, I wasn't sure whether it would be appreciated by a 'grown up' audience. It can be temtpting to lift it to their level instead of concentrating on the child's view!

It's just the sort of book I used to buy when my son was small. I can almost see it in print, with marvellous illustrations
