Praising Creators

[Continuing the hymn-for-Sundays series]

Admiring paintings:
the artist acclaim;
sublime music moves us –
we honour the name
of those who are gifted,
acknowledge their fame.

On beauty excelling
all else, we should gaze –
the Author, Designer
of nature then praise:
its complex construction
must awe and amaze.

Such beauty is stunning!
– the thought is deceit
that such could by accident
arise incomplete –
its chemical pathways
well synchronized, neat.

At present observing
the beauty is marred,
this whole scene of sinning
is suffering and scarred,
– soon by its Creator
it will be restored.
