[Continuing the hymn-for-Sundays series]
'What shall we eat?' and ‘What shall we wear?’
‘God, be my Saviour’, be my first prayer.
Worrying can’t add an inch to my height,
nor bring me mercy, comfort and Light.
Don’t set your heart on clothing and food.
Better the goals eternal and good.
First seek God’s kingdom, he’ll meet your needs:
rescues our souls, our bodies he feeds.
Treasures amassed on earth all can fail,
treasure in heaven won’t rot or grow stale.
Rat race around to grasp transient hoard.
Prepare now for glory – eternal reward. Luke 12:22-34
Tune: 54 54 54 54 eg ‘Thine own way’ by G Stebbins
