[Continuing the idea of a hymn on Sundays]
Look onward, up – the city goal:
for them, Jerusalem;
for me, the glory where my Lord
dwells, and has bid me come.
For he is there who is my help
forevermore, and now.
The Maker of the heaven and earth
keeps watch where’er I go.
Protection, care, he leads and guides;
my Father never sleeps;
his people he preserves and guards, –
each one in safety keeps.
Tune: CM eg Crimond tune of ‘The Lord’s my Shepherd’
I lift up my eyes to the mountains – where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip – he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord watches over you – the Lord is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will keep you from all harm – he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and for evermore.

Such a reassuring psalm, this
Such a reassuring psalm, this, Rhiannon, as are the words to your hymn. It fits that lovely tune, perfectly...once I could get the theme to 'The Vicar of Dibley ' out of my head. Mind you, that too is a beautiful setting of the 23rd psalm.
Hope your Sunday has been a peaceful one.

Hi Rhiannon
Hi Rhiannon
I like singing along to your hymns. You created a good variation to the psalm. I read a book about King David, and another one about Henry VIII's last wife, Kathyrn, who supposedly translated a lot of psalms into English, so when I read psalms now, it is with an historic reference.
