Reasons to Praise

[Continuing the hymn-for-Sundays series]
Wholehearted praise, through all my days;
reflective gaze, on all your ways:
creation beautiful I see,
and purchased full salvation free.
Your grace has taught of freedom bought –
your peace we sought, by mercy caught;
taste help each day, delight to stay
to fellowship, and walk your way.
Rejoice, content for you are near,
from condemnation cleansed and dear,
pardoned, no judgement need to fear,
upheld, preserved to persevere.
From hearts made wise, our songs arise,
and praises swell, of him to tell
who is the universe’s King,
kind Sovereign over everything.
‘I will praise you, O LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonders. … Those who know your name will trust in you, for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you. ’ Psalm 9:1,2,10

obedience and love
I have thought about this Rhiannon why should we praise and worship? God clearly knows all of that already and for Himself should not need praise.
Well, I believe it really is for us instead, as a proof of our own love and devotion we must express our love for God in some way, and I believe there are many such ways. And also as a church and congregation together with other believers. We thus sing to please God.
The greatest commandment is that we shall love the Lord God with our whole mind, our whole heart and our whole soul. This sounds like in the form of an order, a Law. Thus praise and prayer is to obey and demonstrate our love for God by these things, and ultimately for ourselves.
Personally I grew up in much more conservative protestant churches, singing traditional hymns and psalms, always disciplined and sober and showing utmost respect and obedience to God. Each to his own. It can be hard.
Check out my new poem! All the best!

Often I don't understand everything that
Often I don't understand everything that you say, and sometimes I feel a bit uncomfortable but we all have the same God, the same Jesus and the same Bible. Still, there are many "different" churches so we must keep that in mind, each worshiping in his own way. A rainbow nation!
Have a great week! Nolan &
