Yes, when the false friends have deserted him, and he is at rockbottom feeding the pigs in the parable, it says he 'came to himself' or 'came to his senses' (different translations) and realised what he'd left behind and maybe he'd be accepted back in some way for some help. Like God drawing someone's heart and bringing them to really want his presence and help. Rhinnon
