[Continuing the hymn-for-Sundays series]

Do you hear God’s words of love
and welcome, call to come?
Do you see displayed that love
that on Golgotha shone?

     Who dies to save his friends and kin?
     Who dies to save a cause to win?
     The holy Christ died there to save
     rebels unclean there shown such love.

Amazing love could make a way
to take away our guilt,
and agony his Son would bear
in death his life-blood spilt

We had not seen our danger, need,
this King came down and served
and one day all will understand
then give Him praise deserved.

“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8

Love shown just not told, could be frustrating or perhaps you don't know, but you can always pray, and be patient. So hard to do.

Oh, I see what you are referring to, and I think I do understand. On the human level both are needed aren't they. I hope the situation resolves happily.

Writers are often being told to show things in their stories, not just tell them. ie words that are said, or not said, should be seen by actions. But as you say to show and not tell love can be very trying.

I was just trying to indicate here that God does not only tell us of his love for foolish fallen mankind, but, as the verse says, demonstrates it on Calvary in what we see Jesus doing for us.
