[Continuing the hymn-for-Sundays series]

Blighted partying and violence,
frustration breeding selfishness,
think anarchy brings happiness,
but joy flows out of godliness.
    Satan blinds, brings misery,
    Satan lies, brings poverty,
    you don’t believe you were created
    for the joy in him located.

Created in God’s image, so
we can find kindly things to do,
selflessness is satisfying
and God’s friendship stimulating.
    Turn repentantly to him,
    pardoned, life renewed begin,
    anger quenched and glad to bring
    help to others suffering.

Hi Rhiannon,

I guess there's a lot of truth in this hymn. Such a pity it doesn't suit everybody.

Thanks, HIlary. The sad thing is that it could/would suit anybody and everybody if they could but 'see' and 'taste' and find that God's offer and acceptance leads to happiness, while 'going for my own fun, regardless of other people, or God' actually just leads to miserableness. Rhiannon

From sin the flesh and decadence in a modern perspective, to hope and salvation, compassion and love. It is by far the best lifestyle, a life of fullness and happiness.
