Fame breeds jealousies,
envy and spite,
boastings, deceit:
tongues claw and fight.
Distrust endemic,
few dare to lead
in honest affection,
for peace intercede.

The best lack all conviction
The best lack all conviction, while the worst are full of passionate intensity.

It is a line from “The Second Coming”
It is a line from “The Second Coming” written before WW2. The poem is very much different from William Blake's “Jerusalem” both were most extraordinary poets. I also especially like Yeats “Sally Gardens”.
All the best Rhianon! Tom
