Stopped in their tracks

[Continuing the hymn-for-Sundays series]
Stunned by the clarity,
stopped in their tracks,
speaks with authority
– wisdom attracts.
Wise, good and loving,
in all that he said –
guidance for living
– which now can be read.
They saw his power
miraculous,
saw evil cower –
would they confess
him God, the Saviour
whose grace they need
for which he came here
– from sin many freed.
Tune: ‘Thine own way’ by George Stebbins 54 54 54 54 tune of ‘Have Thine own way, L|ord’
‘They were amazed at his teaching, because his message had authority. … With authority and power he gives orders to evil spirits and they come out!’ Luke 4:32, 36

Good hymn Rhiannon!
Good hymn Rhiannon! Although I must admit I am sceptical of the practice of exorcism and deliverence. And I speak of a bit of experience. The words all are not so clear some of it doesn't quite make sense.
Just my feelings, keep well! Tom

I don't actually like saying
I don't actually like saying this, but for instance in the first stanza just reading, who is "he"? and the second stanza, who are "they"? I mean just for someone just reading and not so familiar with the teachings. By the way, good explanations.
You must have a good day, cheers! Tom Brown

Hi Rhiannon
Hi Rhiannon
Another lovely hymn to add to your collection. I was researching something this last week and came across an article which was based on ancient writings - saying what Jesus really looked like. They seemed to think he was short, and had lanky hair. Not that it matters what he looked like, because his words brought the crowd to him, not his appearance.

demonic possession
I've also heard some stories that make your hair rise. Like an evangelist physically punching out demons.
And some poor woman sobbing on her knees flushing all her pills down the toilet while the "church" people are carrying on like crazy when she gets sick again nobody knows her, just maybe "her faith wasn't strong enough". Their imagination knows no bounds sometimes even looks like a hobby.
Are you well Rhiannon? All's well this side with my brother too, watching lots of movies. It is lovely outside it is summer it is rain and sunshine. Just my mother's cat William has been sick he is old already.
Almost weekend! && Nolan
