[Continuing the hymn-for-Sundays series]
Like a fish out of water
that’s gasping for breath
so many thirst, hunger –
they’re desperate for truth.
Yet truth they reject,
believe the absurd,
False image project,
and swallow fake word.
Integrity’s rare,
the authentic we crave
to lift from despair,
bring hope that can save.
So fake and deceit
surround, ever near:
truth will lies defeat
soon – God’s witness is clear.

Excelellent
Excelellent Rhiannon Also1 Love the metaphor of fish and the New Testament, fishers of men. Truth is a river always heading for the sea and with no other thought, unstoppable.
Have great day! x
